Atiba
Through fear you fought,
My Atiba Masai, fierce warrior.
Simba conquered, the tip of your spear
pierced his heart and won mine.
Tonight we jump,
an esulusulu celebration.
Honoring your victory and
passage from child to man.

Zebra, Acrylic on Canvas

No sweet without salt
No pleasure without pain
Today your Bou Regreg
flows with sadness
Tomorrow she floods
your life with joy
Yin balances Yang

Daughter
Gentle soul
Though pain you took your first breath,
through joy were you conceived.
Love that I have known before does not compare.
Bound by a cord, long since cut,
we shall travel this road together.
Your tender smile as the knowledge of
womanhood begins to flow.
Take my hand, I will teach you to dance.

Vivant
Tangible colors that dance around me
Music lives inside my heart,
as art lives inside yours.
A creative kiss,
in a timeless place,
melting together,
like the sea embracing
the setting sun.

Massai Lady, Acrylic & Oil on Wood
"Massai Lady"
60x91
Acrylic & Oil on Wood

Queen
The heart of Africa is not Darkness.
Her heart is strong,
like the will of a widow who must carry on.
Her heart is pure, like the covenant of a new day.
A silent witness, stained with joy and
sorrow of each lifetime to pass through her
exhaulted womb.
This regal woman survives,
walking proudly along the spiral of time.
She carries the burden of knowledge,
the alabaster jar of life,
the everlasting love that threads us all
and binds earthly heart to eternal light.
